Every year I am surprised how fast our summers go by. I can't believe that it is already time for the new school year to get started! It just doesn't seem right to have school starting when it's still 100 degrees out.
This year, Las Cruces Public School students and Las Cruces Catholic School students return Aug. 15. Mesilla Valley School students hit the classrooms even earlier, on Aug. 9
So it's time to put the swim suits away and get your school supplies together. Here are a few links if you're looking for school supply lists:
If you don't have children in your home, but enjoy buying school supplies, you can always donate! It's estimated that nearly 60 percent of students won't have adequate supplies. Here's a list of items that LCPS accepts:

• Pens with blue or black ink
• Rulers
• Folders with pockets and prongs
